Job Description
Accounting and Tax:
- Oversee group accounting policies
- Evaluate monthly finance team reports
- Quarterly review of Group Reporting (CAP)
- Ensure monthly financial and accounting activities and reporting are accurate and timely
- Collaborate with other Group functions and relevant parties
- Oversee Group year-end audit and annual corporate tax submissions
- Review inter-company and intra-group transactions for timely account reconciliation
- Ensure timely submission of regulatory and statutory reports in Singapore
- Monitor group finance governance compliance
- Contribute to regional finance projects and initiatives (e.g., M&A, financing due diligence)
- Review Group tax filings and returns (e.g., withholding tax, VAT, annual tax returns)
- Coordinate with the regional tax function regarding tax regulation updates and other tax schedules
- Offer advice on group restructuring, efficient group structure, valuation, and key accounting considerations
- Provide accounting advisory to align business objectives and support new market entry and investments
- Coach finance teams on technical aspects (e.g., accounting updates, ESG) and the quality of financial reporting and tax.
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
- Ensure timely submission of monthly Group reports to Global HQ
- Review monthly consolidated management reports against business targets and rolling forecasts
- Assess performance targets for Solar projects and analyze variances in project cost and profit compared to the budget
- Review and analyze actual vs. budget costs across different departments and countries
- Report and analyze the financial performance with a focus on data granularity and accuracy of cost drivers
- Review and support the annual budget, Long Term Planning, and regular forecasting
- Evaluate project budgets and KPI presentations for management
- Review and analyze project control and variance analysis with project teams in different geographies and the regional hub
- Drive forecasting and budgeting efforts to align the finance function with the business's strategic vision.
Strategic Initiatives and Projects:
- Provide finance and tax advisory support for strategic projects within the hub
- Lead the implementation of finance operations in new market entry, Joint Venture setup, and M&A migration.
The Successful Applicant
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, FP&A, and tax roles, gained from working in both Big 4 firms and commercial settings.
- Possesses robust accounting technical skills with prior experience in the APAC region.
- Having a strong understanding of tax and internal control is considered an advantageous attribute.
