Relationship Manager

This client-facing relationship opportunity is based in Singapore. The successful individual in this position will be able to make an immediate effective contribution by drawing upon a strong product knowledge and understanding of the IB sector (specifically within capital markets) as well as proven and effective client relationship management skills, gained through their previous experience.

As a trusted advisor to business heads and stakeholders within the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) division of the client, you will be expected to deliver the Coalition products and processes to the client in line with the contractual remit and to deliver projects and analytics as required by the client. The Relationship team is the face of Coalition and as such you are responsible for helping to develop and expand the networking relationships across Coalition’s clients. This is a great opportunity to transition from a more narrowly-focused role to gain extensive broad product knowledge across markets, insight to CIB strategy and projects, and expand relationships across the entire bank. Over time the role offers the opportunity for high profile interaction with senior stakeholders and contacts within the CIB sector.

The successful candidate will be involved in relationship management, provision of Analytics and project management in the following ways:

§ Immediately step into a client-facing, relationship management role working with the client stakeholder group, you will be managing and running day to day interaction, working as part of a team.

§ Develop, utilising expertise within Coalition globally, the assigned client’s understanding of their performance against the competitor/client/country landscape, organisation structures, strengths and weaknesses, strategic direction across CIB businesses

§ Build a network of intelligence sources within the client, including senior staff across the business as part of regular intelligence gathering and/or project work. Prepare commentaries of the interview output and verifying intelligence that has been gathered using a variety of research tools

§ Take responsibility for project management from inception to delivery, mapping out and managing the deliverables through the project lifespan, ensuring effective use of Coalition’s internal resources and information sources available from the client

§ Manage, analyse and interpret analytics and be able to present the output intelligently and with insight to the client

§ Manage the workflow process with our India based data centre

§ Support contract negotiation and scope specific projects that the client may request. Your role includes setting project metrics, identifying means of intelligence gathering and preparation and presentation of the results of the analysis to senior management at the client

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes to be considered for this role. This experience is likely to have been gained over at least three years (ideal range 3-5 years, with minimum two years in financial services benchmarking). Postgraduate experience preferred with excellent research skills and knowledge across CIB products and Asia Markets

§ Proficient Account Manager with a minimum of 2 years experience in managing relationships across time zones and large financial institutions.

§ Strong knowledge of Global Markets, Investment Banking products and buy-side client dynamics; such experience likely to have been gained from having worked within an investment bank, sales and trading, corporate bank or within the financial services practice of a consulting firm, or specialist competitive intelligence firm.

§ Excellent qualitative skills and the ability to prepare well-edited, well presented reports with structured APAC market commentary

§ Strong quantitative skills, an analytical and enquiring mind with a proven ability/desire to work with significant amounts of analytics and data, both numerical and qualitative with the aptitude to develop and create new insights

§ A strong degree of independence, drive and self-motivation. A proven ability to work autonomously and to take ownership of planning own workload

§ Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills allowing immediate individual impact with clients; the ability to build rapport easily and to converse confidently and articulately. Fluency in spoken English is essential

§ Strong track record of project management demonstrated by successful delivery of projects, effectively utilising your colleagues and resources around you

§ Presentation skills - present to C-suite stakeholders in Asia leveraging previous knowledge of client and competitor dynamics on a frequent basis

§ Demonstration of a genuine interest and passion in the Financial Services sector coupled with the willingness and drive to develop your knowledge and understanding of the sector

Candidates must have high intellect demonstrated by a strong academic background – this will typically be demonstrated by a strong undergraduate degree and ideally a post-graduate qualification from a premier business school; in the absence of this, demonstration of compelling alternative qualification or experience.
