Ratings Partnerships Manager - APAC

Netflix is releasing content at a pace and scale unlike any studio or broadcast channel in history: all around the world, at the same time, all episodes at once, for over 200 million members. With so many different titles to choose, across such a range of tastes and cultural standards, our members need the information and context to be able to tell at glance that what they’re watching is appropriate for their household.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help develop our ratings framework for Netflix’s rapidly growing content catalog in APAC. It will require an understanding of regulatory requirements and cultural sensitivities throughout APAC, operational aptitude to enforce those policies, ability to navigate competing global and local priorities, and the ability to speak effectively about how we develop and apply maturity ratings to content on service. The work you do in this role will directly affect how our members decide what to watch. Within the Product Metadata and Ratings (PMR) team, you will serve as the APAC region’s ratings classification expert and serve as an in-house conduit to ratings boards. In addition, you will be responsible for the development and execution of the global PMR communications strategy as well as project manage various PMR initiatives.

This is a highly cross-functional role. You will work closely with Public Policy and Communications Teams to develop our ratings strategy in APAC. You will also work with members of the broader Product organization, such as Consumer Insights, Operations, Globalization, and Engineering to execute on our overall maturity ratings strategy.

This role will report into the Director Of Ratings and Partnerships and will be based in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with regional Public Policy teams to support the development and execution of the ratings strategy in APAC
  • Project manage ongoing board engagements, ratings program developments and PMR team projects
  • Lead research initiatives in support of Netflix’s ratings strategy
  • Educate internal and external partners on the Netflix ratings framework, the work of the various PMR teams, and the Netflix product
  • Support the development and implementation of the PMR communications strategy
  • Manage stakeholder priorities and communications in-region while balancing the global priorities of the Ratings and Partnerships team
  • Support cross-functional education, research, and innovation projects
  • Identify gaps and develop efficiencies in our timelines for board pilot projects

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in relevant fields, such as Content Strategy, Standards & Practices, Crisis Response, Policy/Legal Operations, Communications, Trust & Safety
  • Extensive experience in highly cross-functional roles gaining buy-in, alignment, and context from a variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent project/program management skills, and a proven track record for operational excellence
  • Great judgment and decisiveness when dealing with timely, deadline-driven, content-related issues and concerns
  • Strong verbal and written communicator and adept at presenting to external stakeholders
  • Critical thinking/problem solving skills and an aptitude for analyzing trends in data
  • Experience working with the Google Suite, AirTable, and/ or other database/ reporting/ tracking tools
  • Experience partnering or working with internal and external stakeholders in APAC is preferred
  • Knowledge of, and adherence to, global ratings boards’ standards and requirements is preferred
  • Fluency in languages other than English is a plus
  • Experience managing content in languages other than English a plus
