We’re in search of a creative Intermediate 3D Game Artist for one of our studios to bring your expertise in creating endearing 3D assets that align with the stylized, cute and cartoonish artistic direction of an upcoming unannounced game.
This debut project is a cooperative gaming experience that embraces dynamic and cute concepts, challenging players to collaborate in a fast-paced environment. It features an imaginative setting filled with unpredictable obstacles and amusing hazards, creating an engaging and entertaining atmosphere.
It is backed by a globally renowned publisher who brings significant resources and expertise to the development process.
This is a full-time position located in Singapore, but we're also open to remote applications. Our core hours are in GMT+8.
As our resident 3D artist, you’ll need to:
- Collaborate with game designers and developers to understand and implement 3D assets that align with the game’s artistic vision
- Create, optimise, and integrate 3D models, textures, and animations using industry leading software such as Blender, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and more
- Take ownership of asset creation, from conceptualization to final implementation and ensuring all assets meet technical specifications and performance requirements within the engine
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to contribute creative ideas that enhance the overall visual appeal of the game
- Iterate and refine 3D assets based on feedback from team members and playtesting
- Stay updated on industry trends, especially those related to the engine and associated art pipelines
Bonuses:
- Familiarity with the Unity Engine and it’s relevant art import pipelines
- Proficiency in creating shaders, materials and VFX
- 2D art skills for concepting and texturing
- Preference and/or proficiency in stylized cute and cartoonish art styles
- Experience in managing a team
To be successful in this role, you would need to have:
- 3+ years of professional experience as a 3D artist in the gaming industry
- A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of 3D assets, including characters, environments, and props
- Solid understanding of composition, colour theory, and lighting
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, iterative development environment
