Sonographer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Setting up and maintaining ultrasound equipment
- Performing ultrasound examinations on patients
- Producing images resulting from the ultrasound examinations
- Interpreting ultrasound images to aid patient diagnosis
- Addressing patients’ concerns before, during and after ultrasound examinations
- Identify normal and abnormal findings.
- Analyze sonograms and relay findings to physician.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, supplies and follow safety regulations.
- Prepare preliminary reports.
- Address problems and inquiries from patient.
- Keeping up to date records of scans performed and images produced
- Referring patients to other healthcare professionals and facilities, when necessary
- Order further testing if needed.
- Manage imaging departments.
Job Requirement
- Degree in Ultrasound or equivalent with at least 1 years' of relevant working experience
- Sound knowledge of clinical procedures and ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate effectively and to foster a cooperative work environment
