Job Description:
- Duties include working in pre-analytical, analytical, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation, technical validation and inventory management.
- Operates and maintains sophisticated instruments and equipment used in the laboratory.
- Able to properly set up, calibrate, maintain, operate and shut down the analytical instruments.
- Perform all procedures in accordance with Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Processes, analyses, verifies and release results within the expected turn around time.
- Ensure compliance with all requirements of the Laboratory Safety Manual.
- Ensure that “critical value” of lab results are reported timely to the relevant appropriate personnel as well as resolve queries from customers as needed.
- Maintains competence in Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Participates in Quality Improvement Programs and Proficiency Programs essential to ensure that laboratory testing is accurate, timely and meets customer needs.
- Escalates lab issues to supervisors or lab management in a timely manner
- Any other duties as assigned by Laboratory Manager.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Biological Sciences/Biomedical Sciences/Medical Technology.
- Preferably with some relevant experience.
- A team player as well as working independently
- Good working attitude and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to do detailed work and maintain a high level of accuracy
- Able to take up challenges
- Good general health and no colour blindness
- Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adequately maintain accurate records and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Work Week: 5.5 day
- Monday to Friday: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm
- Saturday: 8.30 am to 1.00 pm
