Job Description
What you will do:
- Support and complement the engineering team and sales team in the process design related to refrigeration systems and gas compression systems inclusive of compressor selections with Frick Screw compressors, York multi-wheel centrifugal compressors, and other compressors or chillers for the projects. This includes vessel and heat exchanger design using HYSYS and HTRI software and optimal to have AutoCad 2D experience for P&IDs and PFDs.
- Assume responsibility in providing engineering support for the design of refrigeration systems and gas compression systems for sales and projects, attend HAZOP meetings, and assist the sale and project teams at customer meetings.
How you will do it:
- Design refrigeration systems for various applications and perform a heat balance.
- Prepare P&ID diagrams, equipment layout/piping layout for refrigeration system.
- Size refrigeration equipment such as pressure vessel, heat exchangers, valve and controls
- Able to read and understand project/technical specification and comply to require specification.
- Specify temperature, pressure and differential transmitters, and flow meters along with the instrument engineer.
- Design refrigeration system for cold rooms/chilled water system/glycol system
- Work with different vendors on the selection of third-party equipment
- Able to hold technical discussions with vendors, sub-contractors and customers.
- Frequent site visits to ensure the refrigeration systems are integrated and installed in accordance to original design and provide effective solution for any impromptu design changes.
- Meet or improve the committed submission schedule of engineering documents, and complete assigned tasks within the time frame given, with minimal supervision.
What we look for:
- Diploma / Degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must.
- Familiarity with international engineering codes such as ASHAERE/API/ IIAR/ ASME etc
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience, preferably in refrigeration, chemical process, oil and gas (onshore and offshore), food and beverage, or similar industry.
- Experience in engineering software - HYSYS/ HTRI is a plus.
- Knowledge in API is a plus.
- Experience in working with site contractors and vendors on the successful implementation of the refrigeration system design at site.
- Team player, effective communicator, able to build customer relationship and customer satisfaction.
- Able to work independently and have a strong sense of responsibility.
