The Audio Visual Supervisor is overseeing and managing the audio-visual (AV) operations and technical aspects within GESS. As a Supervisor of Audio-Visual and Auditorium Operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless AV and auditorium services and operations under the guidance of the Head of Events. You will supervise a team, enforce maintenance policies and procedures, and maintain excellent technical support and equipment functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
- Collaborate with the Head of Events to manage all operational aspects of the Auditorium.
- Ensure effective service delivery to Audio-Visual Department clients, fostering communication between staff and teachers.
- Implement and enforce maintenance policies, remaining on-call during technical emergencies.
Event Support Management:
- Manage event support requests, coordinate the team, and operate AV equipment during school events for optimal performance.
Technical Support and Maintenance:
- Provide AV technical support to staff and students.
- Conduct regular checks on AV equipment, manage inventory, and supervise external vendors.
Equipment Supervision:
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, supervise external vendors, and ensure adherence to safety standards.
Facility Management:
- Maintain the auditorium space, control room, and store room in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
- Oversee necessary maintenance and repairs.
Student Training:
- Train and supervise students in AV equipment usage.
- Assist in Theatre vocational training with students.
Repairs & Maintenance Duties:
- Prioritize work orders, develop plans for timely maintenance, and supervise maintenance services.
- Oversee testing, inspection, and contractor collaboration.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
Service Support:
- Lead and manage a team responsible for event support and technical services.
- Oversee technical support service requests.
Health & Safety:
- Develop and implement safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Administrative:
- Conduct stock and inventory taking.
- Monitor auditorium reservation system and events calendar.
- Coordinate with event organizers and supervise a team responsible for inventory management and event coordination.
Other Duties:
- Perform tasks and projects assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Preferably, at least 5 years of hands-on experience in digital and analogue sound and lighting systems, preferably in schools.
- Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Audio Visual Technology, Sound Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Yamaha CL1 audio Mixer, Ion XE20 Lighting console, and programming with Qlab.
- Lighting design and Electrician's License.
- Experience using MAC and Office 365.
- Work to heights certification and Single Vertical Platform Lifter License are desirable.
- Experience in rigging lighting and audio equipment safely/qualifications.
