Job Description:
- Assist Centre Head and supervise a team of technicians in delivering technical advices/support to the various business units
- Actively involved in job estimation and WIP (Work-In-Progress) tracking
Interpret circuitry diagrams and PCBs for any re-engineering work required
- Work with engineering support section on product design, tester design, maintenance service and implement hardware and software components to integrate into in-service systems
- Manage and supervise the maintenance, repair and overhual (MRO) tasks allocated to the section in supporting commercial products, proprietary and non-proprietary defence products
- Deliver allocated and ad-hoc tasks within stipulated timeline and cost
- Understand the concept of Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) tools such as FMEA so to achieve improvement in MRO effectiveness, reduced manpower requirements and minimized life cycle cost
- Conduct and lead failure investigations and prepare reports for problems or issues based on findings from facts, researches,studies and make necessary recommendations
- Submit investigation reports to relevant authority for approval
- Generate documents and engineering process plans to ensure operation requirements and safety standards are maintained
- Conduct technology search for MRO applications and introduce technology enablers to improve performance and quality of the repaired systems or components
- Participate in Customer meetings to gain insights to their needs and expectations, translating these requirements into deliverables where feasible
- Responsible for the training of technicians; planning, assigning, and directing work to a group of technicians; appraising, addressing complaints and resolving conflicts
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor in Engineering (Electrical & Electronics)
- Experience in PCB and schematic design work
- Experience in effectively leading a team of Technicians
- Experience in SAP System, Automotive or Military Land System is advantageous
- Strong fundamental knowledge in Digital and Analog Electronics
- Knowledge in Microcontrollers, FPGAs and CPLDs
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets
- Strong technical skills in troubleshooting PCBs
Capable to use electronic tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, digital analyser, function generator, etc
- Possess strength to comprehend, analyse and present facts and figures
- Ability to embrace challenges and apply critical thinking to resolve arising / urgent matters without losing overall business focus
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Good communication skills and a strong team player
- Able to work under pressure and tight timeline
