Job Description
- Reporting to the Director of Engineering in APAC, you will be reviewing, preparing, and optimizing designs of renewable power generation system across the APAC region.
- Utilize AutoCAD Design Suite to design utility-scale generation projects for solar, battery storage, and wind, including creating and editing layouts, details, sections, elevations, electrical schematics, cable schedules, and other detailed drawings.
- Drafting, designing and other technical support for all offer and project related drawing requirements.
- Incorporate geolocation information into projects, generate shape files and KMZ files, and maintain proper drafting scales.
- Ensuring proper documentation of technical datasheets, designs, and drawings with version control
- Accurately operating and maintaining the drawing and documentation libraries
- Working with the solar engineers and designers as well as the development / investment team to ensure that whole of life returns from the solar systems under design are optimized.
- Support and lead the development of standards, templates, libraries, optimizations, and processes to maximize efficiency in cost and performance.
- Liaise with Singapore and in-country engineering team members, project managers and advisors to ensure that local customs, practices, codes, and standards are considered, and designs are prepared to suit local environmental and regulatory conditions.
- Any other ad hoc tasks and related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Technical College, Bachelor or Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in AutoCAD, Civil3D, in mechanical, civil, or electrical design.
- Strong AutoCAD skills, including the use of layers, blocks, XREFs, coordinate systems, annotations, and dimensioning while adhering to company and industry drafting standards.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Self-starter - ability to work with minimal guidance.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, prioritization, and multitasking abilities in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to build a team-centered culture, supporting training for team members at all levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and make recommendations.
- Experience with renewable energy modelling is a plus, including tools such as PVSyst, PVCase, Helios3D, OpenWind, WindPro or RatedPower.
- Civil 3D modelling experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with Engineering Standards and Best Practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with GIS Tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) and coordinate systems is a plus.
- Proficient English is a must; another language in Mandarin, Japanese, Korean or other Asian languages are highly valued but not essential.
