Job Summary:
As the Trading and Research Director, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our trading strategies and ensuring that our operations are backed by thorough market research. Your responsibilities will include overseeing trading activities, leading a team of analysts, and developing comprehensive research initiatives to inform decision-making. This position demands a deep understanding of global commodity markets, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex trading environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Trading Strategy Development:
· Formulate and implement effective trading strategies to maximize profits while managing risk.
· Stay abreast of market trends, economic indicators, and geopolitical events that impact metals markets.
2. Team Leadership:
· Lead and mentor a team of trading professionals and research analysts.
· Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on achieving trading and research excellence.
3. Risk Management:
· Develop and implement robust risk management protocols to ensure the protection of company assets.
· Monitor and assess risk exposure, making informed adjustments to trading strategies as necessary.
4. Market Research:
· Direct comprehensive research efforts to analyse supply and demand dynamics, pricing trends, and competitor activities.
· Provide regular market insights and reports to guide decision-making at both strategic and tactical levels.
5. Relationship Management:
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment between trading strategies and overall business objectives.
6. Compliance:
· Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards in all trading activities.
· Stay informed about changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to trading practices.
Qualifications:
• A master’s degree or above in economics, finance or related fields is preferred.
• More than 10 years of experience in metals research and trading field.
• Successive good trading P&L performance.
• Strong analytical, risk management, interpersonal skill.
• Honest, rigorous, with excellent communication skills and team spirits.
