The Institute for Digital Molecular Analytics and Science (IDMxS) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of analytical assays based on the optical imaging of functionalized nanospheres and their interactions with biological targets (including nucleic acids and proteins)
- Synthesize and/or prepare the required assay materials
- Test a wide range of assay conditions and sample types (potentially clinical samples)
- Assist in identifying ideal assay targets based on literature/market/survey-based research
- Collaborate with other IDMxS research clusters (Transduction, Analysis, and Translation) to package the optimized assays into a complete commercial product
- Perform outreach and collaborate with industry and clinical partners
- Perform literature reviews and stay up to date on developments in the field
- Author regular reports and presentations to keep stakeholders updated on progress
- Contribute to publications and patent applications
- Collaborate with other IDMxS researchers to conceptualize and propose novel assays when feasible

Job Requirements:
- PhD Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biophysics, or related disciplines
- Excellent knowledge in biochemistry/biophysics (nucleic acid design, protein interactions)
- Experience in analytical assay design and optimization is preferred
- Experience with optical imaging methods is preferred
- Experience in nanomaterials synthesis (gold/silver) and conjugation is a benefit
- Good writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to thrive in a highly multidisciplinary team-based environment
