We specialize in the recycling and processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, contributing to the conservation of natural resources and the reduction of waste. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Procurement Manager to join our team and oversee the procurement process of raw materials for our metal recycling operations.

Position Overview:

As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing and acquisition of raw materials, ensuring a steady supply of scrap metal for our recycling process. Your role will encompass financial management, import-export procedures, and maintaining customer satisfaction through efficient procurement practices. Your expertise in these areas will be essential to driving the success and sustainability of our procurement operations.

Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy and Execution:

Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the company's raw material requirements while optimizing cost and quality.

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish mutually beneficial relationships.

Monitor market trends and fluctuations in metal prices to make informed purchasing decisions.

Ensure timely procurement of scrap metal to meet production demands and minimize stockouts.

Financial Management:

Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage procurement budgets.

Conduct cost analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.

Track and report on procurement expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.

Implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce overall procurement costs.

Import-Export Procedures:

Familiarize yourself with import-export regulations, documentation, and customs requirements related to metal recycling.

Coordinate with logistics and shipping teams to ensure timely and compliant movement of materials.

Collaborate with international suppliers and freight forwarders to streamline import and export processes.

Stay updated on international trade policies and procedures to mitigate any potential risks or compliance issues.

Supplier Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of quality scrap metal.

Conduct supplier evaluations, performance reviews, and audits to assess compliance and capability.

Collaborate with suppliers to improve processes, resolve issues, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.

Continuously seek new and alternative sources of scrap metal to diversify supply and mitigate risks.

Customer Satisfaction:

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the quality requirements of the recycled metal products.

Ensure that procured raw materials meet customer specifications and quality standards.

Address any customer concerns or complaints related to raw materials and take appropriate corrective actions.

Foster strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide exceptional service.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.

Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar procurement role within the metal recycling or related industry.

Strong financial acumen and experience in managing procurement budgets.

Solid understanding of import-export procedures, customs requirements, and international trade regulations.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and customers.

Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office suite.
