We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to join our team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our metal recycling facility.

Position Overview:

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations, optimizing productivity, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the metal recycling process. You will play a pivotal role in managing resources, streamlining procedures, and implementing best practices. Additionally, your expertise in identifying ferrous and non-ferrous metals, financial management, and import-export procedures will be crucial to your success in this role.

Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence:

Oversee all aspects of metal recycling operations, including receiving, processing, sorting, and shipping.

Develop and implement strategies to optimize productivity, minimize downtime, and reduce costs.

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the facility.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Metal Identification:

Demonstrate a strong knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their distinguishing characteristics.

Train and educate staff on metal identification techniques, quality standards, and grading systems.

Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure accurate identification and proper segregation of metals.

Financial Management:

Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage budgets, track expenses, and analyze financial performance.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to improve profitability without compromising quality or safety.

Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply-demand dynamics to make informed decisions and recommendations.

Import-Export Procedures:

Familiarize yourself with import-export regulations, documentation, and customs requirements related to metal recycling.

Coordinate with logistics and shipping teams to ensure timely and compliant movement of materials.

Liaise with international partners, customs officials, and freight forwarders to facilitate smooth import and export processes.

Team Leadership:

Provide effective leadership, guidance, and support to the operations team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide training and development opportunities.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.

Proven experience in a similar operations management role within the metal recycling or related industry.

Strong knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, their identification, grading, and market value.

Familiarity with financial management principles, budgeting, cost analysis, and profitability optimization.

Solid understanding of import-export procedures, documentation, and customs requirements.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
