The General Manager Finance, Investment reports to the Chief Finance Officer, Asia and serves as a finance business partner for the investment unit. The investment unit covers funds, asset management and property management, as well as management of Group's co-investment stakes in the funds. Your duties include but not limited to the following:
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic and operational financial plans to ensure the achievement of business unit objectives in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- In charge of Investment segment regional financial reporting for Asia covering monthly, quarterly and yearly management and statutory reporting as well as business planning.
- Work closely together with other parts of the finance leadership team including treasury and tax functions to ensure holistic Investment Asia financial and strategic management.
- Oversee and manage internal and external reporting requirements to ensure consistency, accuracy and timeliness of financial and non-financial reporting to achieve regulatory and business outcomes.
- Provide or coordinate technical accounting, tax and treasury advice for any new business setups, investment and divestment proposals.
- Provide financial information and analysis support when involved in special investment or divestment transactions of the private or listed funds.
- Lead, develop and implement the annual strategic and operational financial plan
- Ownership of preparation and management of the business plans including setting business KPIs, monthly and quarterly review process and reporting and driving business accountability to achieve outcomes.
- Ensure robust review process are in place for the Real Estate Fund’s financials accounted under multiple subsidiaries across different geographies / jurisdictions.
- Ownership of treasury management ensuring a sustainable framework to optimise cash flow at business and project levels.
- Manage the performance and development of direct reports, assessing performance, developing technical training programs, coaching, and building the skill sets required to ensure that staff are adequately resourced to perform.
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in similar role and capacity
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related technical discipline which may include CA and/or CPA qualification, combined with advanced subject matter knowledge across the function and advanced people management skills.
- Experience in developing business plans and implementing financial mechanisms, and/or sound commercial acumen and in-depth understanding of general and transactional accounting, cost accounting and reporting.
- Problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through complex issues, guide and coach others in the resolution of problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to forge effective partnerships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
