Purpose:
Applies Project knowledge, Engineering knowledge and seasoned experience to independently manage the engineering and design of Topsides facilities of FPSO project, resolve interface issues across different engineering disciplines and support the fabrication, installation, commissioning and start up of facilities and equipment/ utilities interface associated with the topsides modules
Responsibilities:
- To deliver FPSO Topsides engineering within budget, schedule and quality
- A high performing Topsides Engineering team to deliver consistent engineering design across all Topside Modules and different Detailed Engineering Sub-Contractors
- A robust engineering execution platform for delivery of Detailed Engineering meeting all contractual requirements.
- Implementation of engineering change management for the Topsides engineering post design freeze in all disciplines including communication, tracking and approval by the relevant stakeholders
- Compliance with Company standards, Client Standards, Class Society rules, regulatory requirements, Codes and Standards and Company code of conduct
- Conduct engineering meetings internally, with sub-contractors , with Client and other external agencies , prepare minutes of meetings. Prepare Topsides engineering progress report
- Motivate the Topsides Engineering team and Sub-contractor team to perform, provide performance feedback, forecast and mange engineering resources on the project
- Develop Topsides Engineering manning plan, engineering software budget , Third party study budget, approve topsides engineering related variation orders from subcontractors and suppliers
- Lead in forecasting and mobilizing engineering and design resources for the Topsides Engineering Team in the project
- Lead in forecasting and mobilizing engineering and design resources for the Topsides Engineering Team in the project Clients on problem solving.
- Ensure identification and integration of Safety and Quality requirements in the Design to ensure safe operability and maintainability. Be the Topsides engineering representative for any quality issues or NCRs raised during System audits on engineering team
- Ensure all applicable Engineerings Reviews of the project for Topsides are conducted and closed out in a timely manner
- Incumbent shall be capable of making timely engineering decision in case multiple valid solutions to challenges are generated, based on sound engineering practice and project objectives.
- To be adequately familiar with the key activities and needs of all the engineering disciplines in Topsides Engineering and how these activities interact and are sequenced, and their implications.
- To be able to provide leadership to the Topsides Team in resolving disputes among numerous stakeholders who may have different focus and priorities, both internal and external.
- Lead Topsides Engineering Risk Assessment in the project and ensure close out of the actions related to Topsides engineering risks.
- Implement Lessons Learnt from previous projects for Topsides Engineering and also ensure the Topsides Lessons Learned from the assigned project are captured and reported as per the procedure.
- Shall take active role in contributing to various company initiatives for continuous improvement and development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering with minimum 20 years' experience in onshore/offshore Oil & Gas area or FPSO line(s) or MS degree plus minimum 18 years relevant experience. Diploma holders having 25-yrs experience with additional qualification/ Certificate (making the equivalent to degree) can also be considered. Minimum 1 FPSO experience is necessary.
- Adequate knowledge of all the interfaces between Topside and Marine Engineering, facilities/systems of FPSO and working of all Process, Mechanical, Piping, Structure, Electrical & Telecom, Instrumentation Marine engineering
- Have adequate knowledge of design codes and regulatory requirementsEPCI project.
- Familiar with use of Software, Database systems related to Engineering functions
- Knowledge of competing and alternative technologies
- Must understand and interpret total project life cycle cost and benefits as well as their implications during FEED and EPCI phases of project.
- Ability to organize meetings and liaise with class and client team to resolve issues.
- Ability to conduct performance assessment of Topsides Engineering Coordinators and Lead Engineers.
