Assistant Manager, Commercial (Ship Management)

Requirements:

  • Hold a university degree and/or possess a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership, control, and communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate within a team.

Operating under the supervision of the Commercial Manager, the Assistant Commercial Manager is tasked with the following responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that vessels under full management adhere to contractual terms outlined in the respective management agreement.
  • Informing Technical Superintendents about the management agreement for vessels under their oversight.
  • Generating accurate and timely monthly and quarterly accounts/reports.
  • Collaborating with the Commercial Manager and respective Technical Superintendent to control and monitor vessel budgets.
  • Establishing communication channels with Owners regarding budgetary matters.
  • Possessing a comprehensive understanding of the Company’s Management System.
  • Effectively implementing the Company’s Management System.
  • Contributing to the development or amendment of procedures.
  • Promoting and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
  • Preparing budget proposals in coordination with Technical Superintendents and Technical Fleet Managers.
  • Submitting budget proposals to vessel owners by the end of each calendar year, ensuring follow-up on relevant issues until approval.
  • Distributing approved budgets to all concerned parties.
  • Overseeing the purchasing function to control costs.
  • Undertaking special tasks and projects as directed by the Commercial Manager or Technical Director.
  • Collaborating closely with Technical Department Managers.
  • Arranging purchasing training sessions for Purchasers.
  • Ensuring that purchasing services align with the purchasing manual.
  • Verifying that Purchasers maintain the computerized purchasing program.
  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the Company’s Management System.
  • Effectively implementing the Company’s Management System.
  • Contributing to the development or amendment of procedures.
  • Promoting and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
  • Evaluating suppliers’ performance in collaboration with all Company offices and affiliates.
  • Assisting the Commercial Manager in monitoring the company’s financial exposure on each Client and notifying Top Management of significant exposures.
