Job Overview:
As a Shipping Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the shipping and receiving operations of the company. You will work closely with the shipping team, warehouse staff, and other relevant departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
Responsibilities:
- Order Processing: Receive and process customer orders.
Verify the accuracy of orders and ensure they meet shipping requirements.
Generate shipping labels and documentation. - Packaging: Properly and securely pack items for shipment.
Ensure packaging meets safety and regulatory standards.
Coordinate with warehouse staff to maintain sufficient packaging supplies. - Shipping Coordination: Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers and freight companies.
Arrange for the pickup and delivery of goods.
Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery. - Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of shipped and received products.
Conduct regular inventory checks to identify discrepancies.
Communicate with the warehouse team to maintain adequate stock levels. - Documentation: Prepare shipping documents, including invoices and packing lists.
Ensure all shipping-related paperwork is complete and accurate. - Communication: Liaise with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to address shipping-related queries.
Communicate with external partners, such as carriers and customs officials. - Quality Control: Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet quality standards.
Report and address any damaged or defective items. - Compliance: Stay informed about shipping regulations and compliance requirements.
Ensure shipments comply with international shipping laws and regulations. - Physical Requirements: Shipping Assistants may be required to lift and move packages and spend extended periods on their feet.
Requirements:
- Previous warehouse experience will be advantageous.
- Understand the warehouse safety regulations
- Able to carry goods up to 15kg
- Well versed with WMS
