Job Description:
- Teach children to speak and write basic chinese language
- Prepare children by introducing concepts that they will explore further in kindergarten and elementary school
- Work with children in groups or one on one, depending on the needs of children and the subject matter
- Plan and carry out a curriculum that targets different areas of child development, such as language, motor, and social skills
- Organize and supervise activities so children can learn about the world, explore interests, and develop talents
- Develop schedules and routines to ensure children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring problems to the attention of parents
- Keep records of the students’ progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents informed about their child’s development
- Work with children from different ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds.
- Write lesson plans and create teaching materials like flash cards or matching cards.
- Decorate the boards for festive seasons.
- Run enrichment programmes
Requirements:
- Trained in Certificate/Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE)
- Certified by ECDA as a Level 1 or 2 teacher
- Able to speak fluent Mandarin and write in Chinese to teach the required subject matter.
- Holds a valid first aid certificate recognised by ECDA
- Has at least 1 year of teaching experience in a pre-school setting
- Able to use computer software such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Enthusiastic, imaginative and energetic individual capable of gaining the full potential from each child.
- Have not committed any offence under the Children and Young Persons Act or any other office involving child abuse or child neglect
