As a system Analyst is required to work on a project that Birlasoft Solutions, Inc (formerly known as KPIT Infosystems Incorporated and herein after referred to as “Birlasoft”) is executing for our client, Cummins Inc in Singapore. GOMS is a customized ERP used by Cummins Inc Engine business unit. The project involves software development, upgrade and support to customer’s current Global Order Management Systems (GOMS). This project manages and handles order booking for aftermarket sales for engine business unit of Cummins Inc.
Development and support include the enhancement and maintenance of the existing functions of Global Order Management Systems. It includes the integration, testing, troubleshooting and analysis of the problem related to GOMS application. Timely upgrade of GOMS application in customer environment which includes upgrade plan, Roll-Out plan, Backup plan and running a trial upgrade.
The project also includes the development of the new functions which are initiated by Change request, documentation of the work performed via incident report and change request, documenting the customer’s requirements (DUR), coding and testing the module. Birlasoft is following the Agile method to implement the projects for Cummins Inc.
As a system Analyst is also, required to work on WMS Application (Red Prairie (2009)) used by Cummins Inc Engine business unit. The project involves software upgrade and support to customer’s current warehouse operations which is fully dependent on Red Prairie Application. This project manages and handles Shipment to customer, it allows to receive customer orders from GOMS system and then floor will pick, pack, stage and ship the shipments. Below are core operations handled/managed by Red Prairie (2009)
· Inbound – Receiving of inventory in warehouse (ER/ASN).
· Packaging – Stock/store/make readiness of received inventory.
· Inventory – In/Out/Stock/Categorize/Manage inventory.
· Outbound – Manage customer orders for their shipments (pick, pack, ship) based on order types like Emergency, Engine Down, Priority Customer, Direct Shipment, etc.
During whole operations, any worker, supervisor, any one on floor if faces any issue, pop-up or any connectivity issues, needs to be look after, troubleshoot and provide prompt solution to avoid any delay with inbound/outbound, shipments to customer.
