RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and supervise the technical operations of the assigned vessels, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring of maintenance, repairs, surveys, inspections, and dry-dockings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant rules, regulations, and standards, such as ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, SOLAS, etc.
- Liaise with the vessel managers, masters, chief engineers, and crew on technical matters and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Review and approve vessel reports, certificates, documents, and records, and maintain an updated database of the vessel status and history.
- Prepare and manage the technical budget for the assigned vessels, and monitor and control the expenditure and costs.
- Evaluate and approve the requisitions and invoices for spare parts, consumables, and services for the vessels.
- Coordinate with the procurement, logistics, and warehouse departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery of supplies and equipment to the vessels.
- Conduct regular visits to the vessels and perform audits, assessments, and evaluations of the vessel condition and performance.
- Identify and implement best practices, innovations, and improvements to enhance the technical efficiency and effectiveness of the vessels.
- Manage and develop the technical team and provide training and coaching as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Certificate of Competency (COC).
- Diploma in maritime studies or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Superintendent or a similar role, preferably managing tanker vessels.
- A strong knowledge of the technical aspects of tanker vessels, such as machinery, equipment, systems, and operations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
