As a Chinese Dance Teacher, you will be responsible for introducing students to the captivating world of traditional Chinese dance forms, fostering their love for dance, and nurturing their artistic talents.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging Chinese dance lessons that align with the school's curriculum and cater to students of all ages and skill levels.
2. Teach students the fundamentals of Chinese dance, including various dance styles, techniques, and cultural elements.
3. Demonstrate and guide students through dance movements, postures, and choreographies with precision and grace.
4. Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that motivates students to improve their dance skills and confidence.
5. Provide constructive feedback and individualized attention to help students refine their dance techniques and enhance their performance.
6. Organize periodic assessments and evaluations to track students' progress and identify areas for improvement.
7. Collaborate with other dance instructors to develop and implement performance opportunities, recitals, and cultural events showcasing Chinese dance traditions.
8. Stay updated with current trends in Chinese dance and traditional cultural practices to continually enhance the curriculum.
9. Encourage students to appreciate the historical and cultural significance of Chinese dance forms, promoting cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
10. Maintain a safe and orderly dance studio environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
11. Build strong relationships with students and parents, providing regular communication regarding progress, events, and performances.
12. Attend faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions to enhance teaching techniques and knowledge.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Dance, Performing Arts, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Chinese Dance Teacher, with a strong portfolio of successful dance instruction and student performance.
3. Expertise in various traditional Chinese dance forms, including but not limited to folk dance, and classical dance.
4. Exceptional dance skills and the ability to effectively demonstrate dance movements to students.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
6. Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching Chinese dance and cultural traditions.
7. Ability to create lesson plans, manage class time effectively, and adapt teaching methods to cater to diverse learners.
8. Knowledge of music and rhythm in relation to dance movements is a plus.
9. Ability to work collaboratively within a team of dance instructors and school staff.
