The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) invites applications for the position of Senior Research Fellow.
High power converter development using SiC based semiconductors with operation in the range of 50 kHz poses typical challenges to be met and overcome. Thermal design, control tuning and magnetics design with focus to increase power density with a tradeoff against cost and efficiency remain the primary goal of this project. The suitable candidate must be well versed in the above topics with an in-depth knowledge to design, develop and optimize solutions to the needs of the customer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement power electronics control hardware for high power converters
- Integrate controller emulation in hardware design and ensure controller stability for various operating scenarios
- Develop high voltage test procedures with focus on control tuning and design methods and relevant equipment and test instrumentation to test 11 kV, 2 MVA power conversion
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must possess a doctorate in power electronics
- Design background in real-time applications of power electronics at systems level
- Industrial Experience in design and development of high voltage, high performance power converters
- Work experience of over 10 years is desired
- Skills in simulation and hardware design of high voltage and high-power converter design with relevance to country-based standards in terms of harmonics, voltage regulation would be considered a plus in the selection.
We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
