What the day will look like
- Advising on legal aspects of corporate reorganizations, joint ventures, M&A, corporate governance, commercial contracts (external, internal, and intragroup), IP / technology / data licencing & use.
- Supporting Aon corporate Boards and Board meetings, as well our global corporate secretariat and corporate team.
- Supporting Aon’s businesses in strategic projects that require legal input.
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts with clients, vendors, insurers and other third parties.
- Advising the business on the application of Aon's local, Asia and Global policies and procedures.
- Providing legal guidance to Compliance Department, including drafting, reviewing, and revising local compliance protocols.
- Preparing and delivering training / updates on key legal topics.
- Support the strategic direction of the Aon Group and Legal Department on projects and initiatives that may be allocated from time to time.
How this opportunity is different
As part of the Aon Asia Regional Legal team that supports all Aon’s Solution Line capabilities, you will be expected to help Aon’s businesses identify and manage legal risks in a practical and business focused manner. In this role, you will need to work together with the rest of the Aon Asia Regional Legal team to ensure we provide professional, independent, and consistent legal, regulatory and governance advice to help drive Aon’s commercial goals, and minimize legal, regulatory and reputational risk.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Qualification to practice as a lawyer in common law jurisdiction (whether in Asia or abroad)
- Highly proficient in corporate & commercial legal skills, including M&A (a minimum of 2 to 3+ years practical legal experience; experience in-house and in Asia is beneficial, but not required).
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with an eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills and comfortable communicating by email, telephone and videoconference.
- Willingness to learn about new areas of work and a logical and enquiring approach to new challenges.
- Aptitude for providing user-friendly legal advice, knowhow and delivery of business-facing coaching/education.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
