About Our Client
My client is a global manufacturer of blast equipment and spray equipment. We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager to join our team. The Channel Development Manager will be responsible for bringing in new channel partners to grow the business, and managing a team of distributors, who sell their blast equipment and spray equipment.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in the sales of industrial equipment/component, with a proven track record of success in managing channel partners across APAC.
Job Description
- Manage the current B2C and B2B business models in Singapore and Malaysia.
- Develop a new B2B business model for Coating Equipment in Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei and Indo-China countries.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with coatings material producers in the Automotive, Wood Finish, Industrial Finish, Marine and Protective Coatings market sectors.
- Introduce new products to new markets through strategic partners and direct sales.
- Attain quarterly sales quotas.
- Seek out and develop long-term distributors.
- Set and agree on annual distributor business agreements.
- Manage distributor contracts and planning through regular meetings.
- Execute the company's global sales and marketing programs.
- Work alongside the General Manager to execute the organization's go-to-market plan to penetrate the coatings inspection and equipment markets.
- Quarterly planning and reporting progress, market trends and activities to General Manager, with dotted line reporting to Global Division Manager.
- Sales lead-to-sale conversion - through the Distributor and direct sales routes.
- Forecast, manage and grow the sales pipeline of prospects, through a combination of developing new business, re-energising dormant accounts and gaining incremental sales from the existing customer base.
- Prospect, engage and build an Automotive and Industrial Refinishing distributor network in designated territories.
- Coordinate technical support for the distribution networks - including repair advice troubleshooting through the designated Technical Assistance support engineers in UK and Spain.
- Provide Management with input for quota setting and projections against the revenue plan.
- Effectively use the company's CRM system (Vecta) to support sales activities, complete sales administration tasks and maintain customer data.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with other members of the sales team.
- Capture customer intelligence, record accurately and conduct market evaluations to ensure company products maintain a competitive advantage.
- Develop and maintain product knowledge to improve understanding of customer requirements and to be able to offer a solution.
- Provide the highest level of customer service and support, always delivering and maintaining quality service.
- Be the representative for company at trade shows, exhibitions and seminars and exploit further sales opportunities from these events.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in the sales of industrial equipment.
- Proven track record of success in managing channel partners.
- Strong sales and marketing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to travel frequently.
