The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) serves to drive research development and industry adoption of additive manufacturing technology through collaborative projects with leading industry partners, and with schools and research centres within and beyond the University.
The initial appointment will be for one year, with additional years contingent upon satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the projects with the defined milestones and deliverables
- Manage day to day laboratory activities and a team of researchers
- Manage laboratory facilities and support research projects
- Write and support research proposals
- Support the administration of major research/industry projects to meet deliverables and KPI
- Write and prepare communications content and interface with the industry
- Ensure processes and procedures are executed in compliance to the University’s policy framework
- Constantly seek improvement for laboratory operations (e.g. reduce cost and improve operational efficiency)
- Carry out hands on experiments with 3D printing machines
- Support to develop journal and conference articles
- Coordinate and organise activities related to the NTU Additive Manufacturing Centre (e.g. competitions, conferences and hosting visits)
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in the area of Industrial, Mechanical, and Materials Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in the area of design, methods, modelling, and Optimization for 3D design process, particularly in the aerospace applications of polymer and metallic powders and laser added 3D printing is preferred
- Knowledge of engineering design, multidisciplinary design optimization, FEA simulation and experience in laser added 3D printing will be considered
- A proven record of good research performance with publications in top-tier journals preferred
