Job Summary
The key role involves managing the day-to-day functionality and activities of vessel/equipment logistics. It encompasses the entire process of planning, implementing, and controlling the movement of goods. This includes coordinating various activities such as transportation and distribution. Ensure safe lifting of goods, optimize transportation modes, and distribute to various designated locations/warehouses/countries. Manage import and export control, taxes, and duties. Handle DG (Dangerous Goods) shipment requirements and permits. Prepare commercial invoices and packing lists (CIPL). Emphasize safety, speed, and efficiency in moving goods from one location to another in line with business demands. Manage transportation fleets, routes, and transportation infrastructure. Oversee outgoing shipments and process incoming shipments. Check the quality and quantity of items received for services onboard vessels or sites and perform system transactions for Services/Goods Receipt (GRN) in IFS (Integrated Fugro System). Handle equipment movement with care and safety. Drive vehicles and forklifts when needed. Monitor and lead the loading/unloading of cargoes safely. Perform local collections and deliveries when required. Cooperate with vessel/operations stakeholders and coworkers. Handle any other related ad-hoc assignments as required. Practice safe work procedures and identify potential hazards. Ensure the shipment basis of correct incoterm, and to consider Insurance of equipment while in transit. Load testing of storage and lifting equipment dedicated to the warehouse to be the responsibility of the Logistics specialist in supporting to Operations requirements Main point of contact to Service Lines team and Operations. Prepare for travel.
The goal of logistics is to ensure the right equipment reaches the right place at the right time while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency and ensuring it safely lands to the designated place.
POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION:
Department: Facilities
Direct Report: Central Logistics and Warehouse Manager / Logistics Lead/Supervisor. Functional reports to Service line/Ops Managers.
Key Peers: Facilities Manager, Vessel Team, Operations Manager, Project Managers/Team, Warehouse Specialist, Technical Resource Centre Staff, Quality Staff, Procurement/Supply Chain team.
Key External Relations: Suppliers and Sub-contractors via Procurement.
DELIVERABLES AND FUNCTIONAL TASKS:
General:
- Identifying, building, structuring, and training the team to fulfill the central Logistics strategy, including moving equipment/goods from point A to Point B in the most effective way and meeting safety compliance.
- Manage the ERP inventory system and carry out activities in relation to the IFS system or register arrival processes as dictated by local or global strategies.
- Proactively interact with Warehouse, Technical, and Operations staff.
- While the primary responsibility is running the Vessel's Operational Logistics activities, the employee is expected to proactively collaborate and assist the Warehouse teams and Technical Resource Centre teams.
- Handle equipment to be loaded on a Trailer safety in the warehouse and sent to a Vessel, safely handling the lifting activities
- Assist in RFID implementation in vessel.
Technical:
Collaborate with Service Line and Project teams/Operations teams to understand technical equipment movement requirements for respective business lines.
Maintain an active interest in the industry in which Fugro operates and the various types of work scopes and services provided.
Quality:
Monitor output of work and compliance with company management systems.
Contribute to the improvement of logistics procedures.
Ensure that logistics activities comply with Fugro policy, principles, standards, and safety procedures.
Evaluate contractors and other service providers' performance in delivering services.
Ensure internal client satisfaction at an acceptable level.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Security & Environmental Management in working practices and output.
IT System Management.
About the Role
Responsible for maintaining a safe and effective logistics function.
Provide oversight to external vendors working at vessels (e.g., ports, yards, cranage, fabrication, etc.) in addition to port agency and bunkering support.
Responsible for the inspection and deliver of the equipment and services on-board the vessel
Support in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Logistics strategy in line with upper hierarchical and functional directions or instructions.
Ensure implementation and execution of action plans and KPIs.
Promote alignment by understanding and communicating internal client needs and requirements throughout the organization.
Responsible for vessel daily operational logistics activities and ensuring inbound and outbound (mob & demob) shipments are executed in a timely manner.
Handle any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the supervisor/manager.
About you
Diploma in Logistics or a similar formal qualification.
Previous experience as a Logistics Specialist.
Experience and knowledge of ERP Systems.
Experience with MS Office-related software.
Knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation relating to workplace HSSE.
Knowledge and experience of applicable standards and duties and tax legislation for import/export functions.
Fluent in spoken and written English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A Class 3 driving license and forklift license are preferred.
Undertake the necessary training, for example, Rigging, Slinging and Banksman, Forklift operation. Lifting supervisor training is a must.

2024 KPI:
Achieve 95% on-time delivery of shipments from Point A to Point B as per operational/service line requirements or Part Call Plan. Maintain LTIF (Lost Time Injury Frequency) below 0.1 for vessel berthing and in-house lifting activities. Achieve 95% retention of FRID tags upon equipment/asset return to the Warehouse. Complete and record GRN (Goods Received Note) or arrival registrations within 5 working days post-service completion. Achieve 95% of vessel Bunkering activities on time. Achieve 100% Verify and Check on Berthing yard invoices within 5 working days post-service completion.
