Contract Period: From 14 Feb 2024 to 13 Feb 2025
Option to Extend: a further period of 01 year.
Working hours:
- Mondays to Friday: 8:30am to 5.30pm, inclusive of a 45 mins lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Scope of Services:
1. Classroom Preparation
- Set-up and organize science equipment and materials before science experiments or demonstrations.
- Ensure all necessary supplies are readily available for teachers and students.
2. Assistance during Experiments
- Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel (OM, HOD Sc or SH Sc) for repairs.
3. Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel for repairs.
4. Inventory Management
- Maintain an organized inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate with teachers or department heads regarding replenishment needs.
5. Safety Compliance
- Enforce and promote adherence to safety SOPs in the science laboratory.
- Staying updated on safety regulations and educational best practices
6. Documentation
- Record and document any incidents or accidents that occur in the laboratory.
- Maintain accurate records related to inventory, equipment, and safety protocols.
7. Student Supervision
- Monitor students during laboratory activities to ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
- Provide assistance and support to teachers during recess activities and Learning Journeys as needed.
8. Collaboration with Teachers
- Collaborate with science teachers to plan and implement laboratory activities.
- Assist in developing instructional materials and resources.
9. Communication
- Communicate regularly with teachers, department heads, and other staff members regarding laboratory-related matters and safety protocols.
10. Training
- Assist teachers in providing basic safety training to student leaders (Science Monitors) before they engage in science room activities.
- Assist in training new staff members on laboratory procedures and safety measures.
11. Maintaining Cleanliness
- Ensure that the laboratory is kept clean and organized.
- Dispose of waste and hazardous materials according to established procedures.
OTHER MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES
12. School Photographer Duties
- Ad-hoc Photographer duties at school events eg. Back to School programmes, Learning Journeys, CfC, STEAM Week, Project Work…
13. Safety & Emergency Response
- Be familiar with emergency procedures and protocols.
- Assist in conducting safety drills and ensure students are aware of evacuation procedures.
- Assist in developing and updating safety protocols and equipment as needed (with specific reference to First-aid Kits and Fire Extinguishers).
Qualification, Skill & Experience:
- Good communication and inter-personal skills
- Proficient in MS Office and Google Drive Workspace
- Good team player with high level of initative
- Preferably with 1 year experience in relevant field
