Job Description
As part of Global Quality, the Non-Volatile Memory Quality & Reliability (NVMQRA) Technician at Micron Technology will be responsible for the timely receipt and preparation of Non-Volatile Memory (NAND/NOR/MCP) customer returns for analysis. You will inspect and rework devices, as well as perform Bench-level and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) testing analysis. You can expect to perform test setups, determine test sequencing and recipes to increase throughput, as well as summarize and track test analysis results. In this role, you will work with the Assured Quality Level (AQL) and Test Production departments to coordinate equipment utilization and various engineering groups for test issue resolution.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Receive and Prepare Customer Returns for Analysis
- Monitor In Transit reports from Finished Goods
- Pick up RMA components from delivery sites
- Verify component part number and quantity
- Receive into Failure Analysis (FA) tracking database
- Perform visual inspection of components for anomalies or damage
- Remove components from Customer Printed Circuit Board (PCB) when necessary
- Rework device to enable testing
Perform Bench Level Testing
- Interpret customer complaint to determine first steps of electrical analysis
- Involve engineering when extensive failure details are provided
- Capture customer programmed data
- Perform basic functional check
- Summarize electrical results
- Generate Historical Data reports
Perform Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Testing
- Coordinate with AQL and Test Production for equipment utilization
- Verify for correct equipment setup before beginning testing
- Determine optimal test sequencing and temperature recipes to increase product throughput efficiencies
- Load devices according to appropriate test conditions
- Monitor progress of test flow and adjust as necessary
- Communicate and work to resolve test issues with relevant engineering groups
- Summarize and distribute electrical results to RMA engineering
Summarize and Track Analysis Results
- Execute UNIX scripts to gather relevant information
- Identify potential root causes of customer failures
- Delegate RMA cases to engineering based on available work load
- Administer issue documentation throughout the analysis process
- Disposition No Failure Analysis (No FA) material to proper area based on internal procedures
- Track Bench and ATE results in FA tracking database
Additionally, if SENIOR TECHNICIAN:
- Work on moderately difficult assignments with little instructions on daily work, perform troubleshooting of advanced problems/issues with limited guidance
- Provide guidance and coach other technician
