Job Duties:
- Responsible for leading the company working closely with the parent and group companies.
- Design, develop and execute company strategies to achieve the purpose of our company and group which is to protect customers and society in their times of need.
- Direct business operations of Marine Cargo, Hull & machinery, and Overseas Travel Insurance to provide value through the resolution of customer and social issues in APAC region.
- Promote development and empowerment of human resources. Guiding the financial, technical, legal, compliance and other administrative activities.
- Optimize relationship with customers, claim settling agents, external business partners and internal colleagues.
- Foster the diversification and inclusion as the company culture and strategy.
- Manage all lines of business, i.e. Cargo, Hull and OTAI insurance claims and loss prevention activities.
- Ensure proper operation of the company, including accounting, human resources, IT, legal and compliance etc.
- Supervise the operation of claims handling agents for cargo by ensuring that the quality control of claims settlement procedures are enhanced and that claims processed are settled promptly and equitably in accordance with the principal’s claims policy.
- On behalf of the head of region group company, check, monitor and support the referral claims etc from Group Companies (GCs) and assist them to enhance the quality of their claim handling.
- Provide value-added services to clients and to support GCs by close cooperation with the parent company.
Requirements:
- University Degree, preferably with LLB/LLM or professional insurance qualifications.
- At least 10 years of experience handling and managing marine cargo, hull and machinery and P&I claims and loss prevention activities in an insurance company.
- Management skills including accounting, human resources, IT, legal and compliance.
- Advanced knowledge of Marine Cargo, Hull & Machinery, P&I and Japanese OTI insurance clauses.
- Experience in conducting the audit of the claim agents.
- Proficiency in Japanese language is required to handle Japanese clients, liaise with Japan HQ and to read Japanese reports/documents.
- Advanced report writing, presentation and communication skills both in English and Japanese language.
- Good global network with the international law firms, average adjusters, marine surveyors, correspondents, marine experts, salvors and OTI assistance service vendors.
- Good Customer response skills for Japanese clients.
- Excellent technical skills on Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
