RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Communications and Branding Assistant Manager to join our small and dynamic Communications and Branding team. This is a newly created role that reports to the Head of Communications with a focus on BW Group and some of the Groups privately held affiliates. This exciting opportunity is ideal for someone looking to advance their career in communications, contributing to a high-performing team in a fast-paced multinational environment. We work hard but we like to have fun too!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support corporate communications for BW Group and some of its affiliates with timely, relevant, and engaging content and visuals.
- Support, draft and contribute to the Groups annual Sustainability Report.
- Support, draft and contribute to World Horizon, the Groups bi-annual publication.
- Assist with press releases and media inquiries.
- Assist in maritime crisis communications in conjunction with the Head of Communications and a third-party partner agency.
- Create and execute digital communications campaigns to engage internal/external stakeholders and enhance the company's online presence e.g. LinkedIn
- Oversee social media platforms and the BW Group website.
- Plan and draft internal communications to keep employees informed about company news, achievements, and initiatives.
- Provide support for company events, industry forums and exhibitions (e.g. take photos and prepare videos).
- Manage BW Groups creative assets and media library.
- Develop relationships with third-party providers (web agency, design partners etc.).
- Update distribution lists, raise Purchasing Orders and process third-party invoices.
- Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all print/online communications platforms.
- Support ad-hoc and unplanned communication and branding requests.
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the below:
- Minimum three years working in corporate communications (preferably a global organisation, or in the maritime or energy industry)
- Driven and self-motivated, thrives in a fast-paced international work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt and design content for internal/external audiences and channels, breaking down complex topics into clear, compelling, easy-to-understand content.
- Excellent copywriting and copyediting skills
- A positive can-do attitude.
- Able to work efficiently under pressure on multiple priorities and deliver work under tight deadlines.
- Creative, proactive and resourceful, able to work independently.
- A creative thinker with high attention to detail
- Strong planning, organisation and time management skills to efficiently manage deadlines.
- Collaborative, reliable team player with a sense of ownership for work tasks assigned.
- Discretion in handling confidential matters and cultural awareness in navigating diverse business environments.
- Professionalism in stakeholder management, especially working with senior stakeholders in various industries.
- Experience in managing digital communications/social media e.g. LinkedIn
- Proficient in MS Office applications, communication tools and media monitoring tools.
- Good eye for design. Proficient with content creation and photo editing tools e.g. Canva.
Education qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Additional certification and/or training in crisis communication, media relations, or relevant areas will be an advantage.
- Journalism/ editorial experience will be a bonus.
