Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain fleet management software solutions, including vessel ERP, crew management, and fleet system integration.
- Work with software developers to customize and improve software that will support fleet management operations.
- Oversee and manage the IT infrastructure that supports fleet operations, including servers, networks, hardware, and software.
- Ascertain that IT systems are operational, secure, and in accordance with industry standards.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures to protect the vessel's information technology systems and sensitive data from cyber threats.
- Manage the procurement and upkeep of software applications on board ships. Ensure that software licenses are current and compliant.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and implementing major IT systems (preferable Fleet, Shipping system), with at least 3 years in project management or project leadership.
- Experience managing IT operations in a maritime or shipping environment is highly desirable.
- Understanding of web services/API interfaces to various systems
- Experienced in marine industry
