The Company is recruiting a Data Engineer to support Asia business across multiple commodity asset classes.
High Level Responsibilities
• T-shaped data engineer who can engage the business on requirements gathering, develop suitable solutions that makes sense.
• Design, build and maintain code that process, store and expose fundamental and pricing data.
• Partner with DBA to develop & maintain data tables in the databases.
• Maintain a focus on software quality throughout the development process, employing robust testing and best practices to ensure reliable and maintainable code.
• A genuine interest in development frameworks, design patterns and programming languages.
• Develop dashboards for the business.
Business As Usual Responsibilities
• Provide daily support for existing / new data ingestion processes.
• Identify & resolve production issues in a timely manner – escalate and coordinate incident response, where applicable. Prioritize issue resolution based on urgency / severity.
• Prioritize bug fixes / feature enhancements with the business.
• Liaise with 3rd party providers to resolve system issues in a timely manner.
Requirements & Expectations
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Ideally 5 plus years’ experience of front office banking / trading company data engineering experience.
• Possess desire to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial and busy environment. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Aptitude to convey information in a clear and concise manner.
• Independently think through complex problems, break them down into manageable pieces, deliver solutions in a successful and timely manner.
• Maturity, good judgement, time management and analytical skills.
• Able to context switch, juggle between tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Pragmatic team player with attention to details.
• Proactive and able to take on unfamiliar issues.
