JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with Data Analysts within the Department, domain experts and/or stakeholders (e.g., clinicians, pharmacists, other healthcare professionals and management team etc.) and IT teams to develop and deploy models to support patient care and improve health services delivery.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to understand data analytics needs and study objectives.
- Lead data-driven projects and initiatives to develop analytical solutions using appropriate algorithms or tools, e.g., apply advanced machine learning models such as Random Forests, Gradient Boosting, Support Vector Machines and Neural Networks, etc.).
- Perform data extraction, cleaning, and preprocessing independently.
- Implement and deploy models in the analytics platform / clinical system and integrate with application workflow to support patient care and health services delivery.
- Work closely with requestors and/or stakeholders to drive adoption of analytics insights / model results into workflow.
- Document data analytics projects conducted, maintain the developed models, and assist to resolve requestors’ issues.
- Increase awareness of analytic work through high quality journal publications and conference presentations.
- Seek collaborations and apply research fundings.
- Conduct training and sharing sessions on data analysis and analytics.
- Mentor junior Data Analyst.
GENERAL
- Take accountability in considering compliance to policies, guidelines and regulations and take appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Highlight potential concerns to Supervisor and/or risks and proactively look for the risk management practices.
- Provide prompt feedback to Supervisor in anticipation of work-related problems.
- Perform general administrative duties as required.
- Carry out any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor and/or the Head of Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent disciplines with extensive use of data for analysis.
EXPERIENCE
- Advanced skills in statistical modeling and machine learning.
- Ability to design and execute complex experiments.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R.
- Knowledge in JAVA, HTML etc. and big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
- Strong communication skills to liaise between technical and clinical teams.
