Assistant Manager, Event Sales and Marketing

The Assistant Manager has overall responsibility and accountability for the management of Sales and Marketing in relations to venue hire and facilities/event space, working across the organisation to develop the outdoor space hire offer and Club Facilities space which reflects Singapore Recreation Club’s brand, meeting the needs of our diverse clientele.


A creative individual with a passion for event management and sales. The Assistant Manager will have responsibility for implementing the outdoor hire and Club’s Facilities strategy, setting, achieving and exceeding financial targets. He / She will assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies which promote the outdoor hire, offer to our key markets, taking bookings, developing key relationships and ensuring events are managed effectively.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Events Sales

. Work with Marketing Head to create a unique outdoor space hire experience in line with SRC’s brand.

. Work with Marketing Head to develop and implement SRC’s outdoor space hire strategy, ensuring regular reviews and updates as required.

.Manage the sales and booking of Club’s space/events including dealing with enquiries, following up with potential clients and meeting clients for all Club’s related activities.

.Manage the facilities/events budget and profit/loss account, monitoring performance against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).


Manage Sales Performance

· Implement solutions to improve performance in event sales

· Prepare monthly sales performance report for assigned areas of the business

· Report internal and external factors that may impact sales performance

· Supervise meetings with Sales Representative to monitor sales activities and to improve performance


Manager Customer Relationships and Accounts

· Develop customer relationships with past and potential customers to influence them to close deals

· Drive adherence to personal data protection legislations and guidelines in dealings with customer data

· Drive discipline (CRM) systems with up-to-date customer information and business details.

. Nurture and build relationships with current and potential corporate clients/members, national sport associations, government agencies and event management companies.


Execute Marketing Campaigns

· Manage marketing mix including campaigns promotions and events

· Work with Marketing Head in marketing campaigns and communication content

. Work with Marketing Head to conceptualize, drive and mange SRC’s key events to create brand awareness.

· Work with Marketing Head to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across all platforms and members touch points


Manage Marketing Budget

· Manage marketing budgets based on activity-sorted expenses

· Draft realistic budgets based on previous marketing initiatives for budget projection

· Monitor key measurement indicators to track campaign effectiveness


Manage Teams and / Departments

· Communicate common goals, direction and accountability among staff

· Develop staff by coaching, mentoring and engaging career discussions

· Exhibit effective performance management practices within department in accordance with organisation policies and procedures

· Monitor budgets, forecasting, work allocations and staffing


Others

  • Maintain effective communication and working relationships with colleagues in order to ensure a joined-up approach to the Sales activities.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management on ad-hoc basis.

Requirements: -

  • Degree or Diploma or equivalent professional qualification, or previous experience profit accountability, management of venue hire and Event Management, preferably within the hospitality, entertainment and events, or mall marketing industry.
  • Target driven with a proven sales ability
  • Has experience in planning and executing large-scale events of more than 500 pax per day.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan workload efficiently, with a thorough and meticulous approach.
  • A diplomatic person who is confident and effective at dealing with people at all levels inside and outside SRC.
  • Articulate and persuasive speaker and writer.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated person who can efficiently and effectively manage a wide range of tasks and objectives.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and priorities tasks, as directed as well as using own initiative.
  • May require occasionally to work on weekend and odd-hours for events, roadshow, etc
