Position Summary: The Director, Business Development, APAC Learning Solutions, will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and targeting prospective business leads for Learning Solutions from Syneos Health and providing oversight to any projects won throughout the entirety of the project.
New Business Generation
· Identifies and develops new business relationships, creating pitch opportunities and obtaining new and follow-on business wins in order to achieve annual revenue targets, specified after joining the company.
· Identify prospective client needs, identify the strategies, tactics, resources and people required to address the need.
· Responsible for reviewing and managing pipeline information for his/her/their own client relationships with competitors to identify potential new business leads, growth opportunities or future competitive trends.
· Work very closely with Learning Solutions Senior Management, Solution Design team, Delivery Team, APAC Commercial Solution team, and all other relevant Syneos Health stakeholders to identify, pursue and close deals.
· Proactively engage global stakeholders within Syneos Health to ensure global opportunities, experiences and relationships are fully leveraged in APAC to drive new business opportunities.
· Leads all new business discussions for his/her/their own clients, proposals, and pitch opportunities generated; including, generation of the discussion documents and proposals; and, leading all efforts around the pitch itself.
· Works as part of a team to generate and manage outbound organic and inorganic business development outreach – may also be responsible for managing inbound non-proactive opportunities.
· Enables opportunities at the C-Suite level within accounts.
Business Development Administration
· Responsible to document all activities in CRM system for management view and oversight.
· Contributes to marketing and demand creation efforts as part of the marketing team.
· Contributes to new product development ideas and execution.
· Lead the response to RFI, RFP, and various client enquiries with relevant internal teams.
Project Execution
· Work with delivery team and business development team to plan for solution implementation and appropriate resourcing to support client projects.
· Attend regular project status calls to remain relevant to the client relationship and manage issues related to strategic project vision and/or budget.
· Oversee project execution from a strategic perspective.
· Adhere to a process for financial hygiene and monthly reconciling of account status for all opportunities in progress with Learning Solutions and Finance teams.
· Responsible and accountable for adherence to company policies and guidelines – HR, Administrative, Operations and Corporate.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills Required:
· Bachelor's degree with at least 10+ years of experience in the healthcare industry in a training, sales, marketing, commercial operations and / or BD capacity preferred.
o 10+ years on the client or service side or 5+ years in a selling capacity selling to pharmaceutical industry sales /marketing or operations decision makers preferred.
o Healthcare products sales and / or devices sales experience will be viewed as a plus.
o Graduate or terminal degree will be viewed as a plus.
· Strong interpersonal skills and very strong platform skills.
· Capable of thinking strategically and tactically both short and long term relative to customer and industry.
· A demonstrated network of industry contacts and a track record of closing business partnerships / deals. Demonstration of her/his network maybe required prior to employment.
· Demonstrates strong character / business ethics, particularly work ethic, integrity and honesty.
· Ability to travel in the region per client / project needs.
· Be a positive ambassador of the company, its vision, mission and goals. Represents the company professionally and credibly during and outside of company hours.
· Ability to work non-conventional workday, e.g. morning / evening programs, office requirements.
· Fluency in English. Knowledge in local languages is preferred.
