Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Summer Holiday Program Teacher to join our team. As a Summer Holiday Program Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging English lessons based on IB curriculum themes. Additionally, you will lead outdoor activities, manage the classroom, and collaborate with our art teacher to provide a well-rounded educational experience for the students.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver English and other subject lessons in accordance with the IB curriculum themes for the summer holiday program.
- Create and implement engaging teaching materials and resources to enhance students' language skills and comprehension.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and methodologies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the class.
- Lead and supervise outdoor activities that complement the educational objectives and provide opportunities for students to apply their English language skills in practical settings.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with the art teacher to integrate arts-based activities into the curriculum, facilitating interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and guidance to facilitate their English language development.
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding students' progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field. A teaching certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in teaching English, preferably within an IB curriculum or similar educational framework.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of IB curriculum themes and standards.
- Excellent command of the English language, including exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Experience in leading outdoor activities and managing student behavior in non-traditional classroom settings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, particularly the art teacher, to design and implement interdisciplinary lesson plans.
- Passion for education and a commitment to providing a stimulating and supportive learning environment for students.
- Organizational and time-management skills to effectively plan and deliver lessons, manage classroom activities, and assess student progress.
- Flexibility and adaptability to adjust teaching strategies based on individual student needs.
