Description
- Prepare timely and accurate pricing reports
- Plan and coordinate all phases of estimating to competitive bid preparation for all MEP packages
- Work with procurement team to ensure competitive prices for quality products
- Input Bill of Quantities (BOQ) into the CATS estimation program
- Understanding client specification
- Providing clarification at post contract stage
- Review quantity take-off, conduct cost analysis and formulate pricing of labour, materials and equipment cost breakdown
- Coordinate with suppliers and assist in the maintenance of company systems
- Maintain subcontractors register and appointment of subcontractors documentation
- Maintain accurate information by validating pricing information
- Perform valuations with respect to the potential financial impact of key risks/opportunities
- Adjust project costs to reflect the same for tendering
- Evaluate subcontractor’s prebid proposals and recommend acceptance or otherwise
- Review contract documents and advise on legal / statutory obligations.
- Identify potential pricing risks, currency exchange risks, program risks, Cost Escalation Risk and evaluate projected Cash flow for liability management.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 10 years of work experience
- Experience dealing with suppliers and subcontractors on commercial and technical matters
- A background of employments with large multi-national contractors
- A broad range of experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Piping disciplines
- Fully capable of estimating / bidding projects from first principals
- Advanced understanding of methodology and construction techniques
