Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide support to Business Development by producing technical proposal, estimated project PV capacity and costing through technical assessment of site and drawings
- Produce design drawings e.g., Single line diagram, Module arrangement layout, Stringing arrangement, inverter arrangement using AutoCAD software
- Develop design specifications and functional requirements for projects
- Complete system designs for PV projects including site plans, mechanical racking and attachment plans, single-line electrical drawings, specification of balance of system location and interconnection details
- Analyze factors affecting performance of PV systems
- Perform software simulations of solar photovoltaic (PV) system performance & energy production
- Perform design calculation, voltage drop, fault current and etc
- Provide engineering support during installation
- Review and approval of engineering drawing submissions from contractors
- Ensure the compliance of specifications and requirements in the signed EPC contracts
- Work with O&M Team to review system performance and improve engineering design
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical engineering discipline
- 2 years experience in Solar PV system design / engineering
Skills/competencies & Preferred Characteristics
- Self-starter and ability to self-manage
- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with different PV system types (Ground/Floating) are a plus
- Can-do attitude, problem solver
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficient in excel spreadsheet and formulas
- Flexible and Willing to learn
- Good understanding of work ethics and takes ownership of tasks
- Familiar with design software such as PVSyst, AutoCAD, Sketchup etc.
- Able to contribute and work efficiently as a team member and achieve objectives as a group
