Key Accountabilities:


Strategic Tax and Customs Planning

  • Provide support to all areas of tax, including transfer pricing, corporate, VAT/GST, personal tax to legal entity management, business model review, value chain evaluation and any other business proposition.
  • Monitor and track tax incentives related matters including application for new incentives and renewal of existing incentives.
  • Provide assistance to ensure that the Group’s global transfer pricing policy and guidelines are transacted on an arm’s length basis that satisfy both group and domestic transfer pricing requirements.
  • Working with external consultant and internal stakeholders to support to custom reduction applications.
  • Update key risk register and provide evidence to risk mitigating plans.

Special Projects

  • Assist with specific special projects/initiatives where they are broad-based and relate to the strategy and operational businesses of The Company.
  • Draft project objectives and implementation plan, and assists in driving the execution of these special projects, including coordination across various stakeholders, tracking and monitoring progress and project metrics, developing of presentation materials (as required), etc.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to provide strategic discussions materials on directions and/or approaches to resolve identified issues.
  • Create and develop content for project workshops, steering committee, executive-level presentations and reports.
  • Track consultancy budget/spend, procurement process and department KPI.

Tax Controversy and Tax Dispute Resolution

  • Draft/review all submissions and information provided to all competent authorities to ensure that information provided are in aligned with the Group’s operating structure.
  • Coordinate tax discussions and settlement meeting with tax authorities.
  • Formulate outcome to facilitate discussion options for senior management and relevant internal stakeholders
  • Assist to develop post settlement action plans to remediate/mitigate future tax implications arising from the settlement outcome with the competent authorities.

About You:

  • Related Finance Degree or equivalent professional certification
  • Minimum 5 years with public consulting firm and/or experience in tax related role in commercial setting
  • Accredited Tax Practitioner is an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge in MS Office, particularly with developing PowerPoint content
