A Senior Purchasing Officer / Assistant Purchasing Manager with Conrad Hotels & Resorts assists in ensuring that all Food & Beverage purchases meet the requirements of the Hotel in terms of availability, quantity, quality and price.
What will I be doing?
As a Senior Purchasing Officer / Assistant Purchasing Manager, you ensure proper and effective communication channels are in place so that the Purchasing Department can accurately stock goods and other equipment for the hotel. You will assist the Purchasing Department in its efforts to manage the purchase of all Food & Beverage goods and equipment that the hotel requires. Specifically, a Senior Purchasing Officer / Assistant Purchasing Manager will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Assist the Cluster Director of Purchasing in purchasing the right goods and materials at the right price, at the required quality, and in the right volume to ensure a cost-effective approach to purchasing within the hotel.
- Work with internal and external customers to ensure smooth lines of communication so that all requirements are met effectively.
- Prepare orders in line with business requirements.
- Work closely with the Department Heads to ensure effective stock control.
- Work closely with the Chefs, Director of Food & Beverage and other operations department to purchase the highest quality products while constantly searching for most competitive price.
- Handle daily routine purchasing functions and ensure that goods and services are ordered as specified and that they are procured at the right price, quality and made available or delivered to the hotel at the specified delivery dates.
- Assist in the expeditious processing of market lists including beverage orders and purchase requisitions received from the Food & Beverage departments and in obtaining pricing and quotes from suppliers/vendors.
- Assist in negotiating with representatives of suppliers/vendors for key items of product lines and determine that quality and prices of merchandises are competitive, in consultation with the Cluster Director of Purchasing.
- Maintain and Issuance of beverage stock including month end inventory
- Assist in providing high level of system assistance to each department and work closely with the Department Heads in surveying the market for quality and best prices. Keep the Cluster Director of Purchasing updated with developments and progress at all times.
- Ensure all local and corporate policies, rules, internal controls and procedures and safeguards as they relate to the Purchasing Department are complied with.
- Perform duties and projects that may be assigned by the Cluster Director of Purchasing from time to time.

- Proficient in both English and Mandarin to meet business needs.
- Proficiency with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft programs
- Possess system skills in Check SCM, preferred
- Well versed in Food & Beverage products knowledge
- At least 4-5 years procurement experience in Hotel industry, preferred
- Flexible in relation to work hours, especially at month end and during stock take.
