Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Senior Nurse Manager / Nurse Manager / Nurse Clinician to identify learning gaps and training needs of nurses.
- Conduct orientation programmes for new nurses and staff on attachment / training. Guides them on various clinical skills by conducting appropriate induction and Continuing Nursing Education program.
- Deliver educational programmes in classroom or clinical settings.
- Supervise nurses to ensures skills competencies and nursing standards are met and maintained.
- Maintain training records in according to accreditation standards.
- Conduct regular discussions with Senior Nurse Educator and Clinical Preceptors to evaluate and update on training programmes / workshops conducted.
- Collaborate with Senior Nurse Educator to review the education practice policies and procedures to meet the current trends and needs of the professional education and practice.
- Resolves and developmental and educational issues when necessary and participate in the implementation of nursing projects and improvement initiatives.
- Update and enhance skills and knowledge in nursing practices and keep abreast with latest developments in nursing.
- Act as an educational resource person for all grades of nurses.
- Conduct performance appraisal for Clinical Instructors and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
- Plan the leave planner to ensure coverage of Clinical Instructors of assigned areas.
- Plan allocation of clinical placement for nursing students and conduct orientation programme for nursing students.
- Ensure ward Clinical Instructors and preceptors to guide, supervise and assess students’ performance.
- Oversees the Clinical Instructors in monitoring nursing student’s clinical performance and provides counselling when necessary.
- Coach and monitor the nursing students on their learning and performance.
- Counsel underperforming nursing students with the Clinical Instructors.
- Review and evaluates the effectiveness in nursing student management.
- Assist Senior Nurse Educator to plan yearly capital expenditures and operating expenses for training department.
- Monitor and control the operating expenses and resource utilisation in the training department.
- Conduct costing for training programmes.
- Carry out any other assigned responsibilities assigned by the Senior Nurse Educator.
Requirements:
- Post basic Certificate / Advanced Diploma in Nursing specialty
- Bachelor’s Degree in health-related subject or equivalent
- Master’s Degree in Education preferred
- Continued professional development & knowledge of current issues in nursing
- Experience in Curriculum Development
- Good knowledge of IT skills
- Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board
- BCLS Certification
