Job Overview
Assists the Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing in management of all sales activities and events including direct sales, sales solicitation, sales administration, public relations and management of the sale team.
Your Day-to-Day Job Responsibilities:
FINANCIAL RETURNS:
- Contribute towards the Annual Budgeted Plan
- Assists Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing in producing, implementing and monitoring action plans to ensure Sales and Revenue Plan objectives are achieved
- Analyses current and potential markets/trends, coordinates all activities to maintain and increase revenue through added business volume and increased rate
- Collaborate with Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing in the preparation for key reports to respective stakeholders and management of the Department’s approved budget
Creates and implements special programmes to achieve greater productivity through:
o Increasing average rate
o Increasing occupancy
o Increasing base business volume for current and forward months
o Increasing business volume during need periods
o Increasing food and beverage sales as per the allocated targets
- Manages key accounts and support team members when necessary
- Oversees the selling and servicing of corporate and group business
- Co-ordinates the development of all promotional material
- Monitors competitor activities and share market insights
- Plans and executes sales trips to major geo markets when required by Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing
- Tabulate and updating monthly Sales reports and forecast
- Establishes and continuously updates mailing lists
PEOPLE:
- Procures new and repeat business for the hotel by monitoring contact with airlines, travel agencies, commercial houses, private clubs and professional associations within local, domestic and key international markets. Maintains contact with planners, corporate accounts, incentive buyers, airlines and wholesalers, through personal sales calls, telephone contacts and written communications
- Provides direction on and conducts market research
- Maintains close liaison with Regional/ Corporate Sales teams and those of other IHG hotels to ensure the hotel receives proper corporate consideration, direction and support
- Attends major travel events to promote and increase sales for the hotel
- Under the guidance of the Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing, directs all sales activities and reports for Senior Sales Managers, Sales Managers and Sales Executives to ensure they meet their set targets for the year
- Works with the Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing on manpower planning and management needs
GUEST EXPERIENCE:
- Meets with guests from corporate/major producers/organizers of big events staying in the hotel to ensure customer satisfaction
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS:
- Identify operational issues that reduce the effectiveness of sales activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with appropriate department on solutions
- Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community
What do we need from You
- Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field, with 3 years' of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Demostrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
