Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare patient for treatment and helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment. Advise patient on dental hygiene issues when necessary.
- To assist dentists in the provision of dental care and dental treatment for patients

- Assist in taking and developing dental x-rays.
- Perform sterilization of instruments and equipment, preparing instruments and materials before each dental procedure.
- Work alongside dentist during dental procedures, providing proper instruments and assistance to facilitate patient care.
- Maintain patient medical and treatment records and dentists’ appointment listing to ensure smooth flow of patients.
- Assist in communication with patients for appointment reminders, appointment re-scheduling and related patient care issues.
- Assist in clinic operations, such as appointment booking, answering telephone calls, billing and ordering of supplies.
- Maintain good clinical, service and grooming standards as required by the hospital.
- To see to tidiness and cleanliness of the department, ensuring good filing system and see ot clinic administrative work.
- Assist to coordinate clinic operations between dental clinics (in other hospitals, such as deployment of staff, top-up of supplies, equipment maintenance, licenses, etc.)
- To participate actively in hospital QC projects and other corporate activities.
- To perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor or HOD.
Requirements
- GCE ‘N’ or ‘O’ Level or equivalent
- Dental surgery assistant certification (if any)
- Experience in hospital or clinic setting is an advantage but not essential
