The AD/SRAD Global New Business is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious professional to contribute to APCO’s business growth globally. This role requires at least one year of experience within APCO since knowledge of the firm is necessary.
The AD/SRAD Global New Business is part of the Global New Business team and works collaboratively across the global APCO team, championing the APCO values of boldness, inclusivity, empathy and curiosity. The role requires flexibility regarding time zones to connect with teams in different regions. The focus will be on APCO’s top global new business priorities rather than a particular market or region. Additionally, the AD/SRAD Global New Business will be the regional global new business point-person in APCO’s Asia-Pacific region and in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business proposals and pitch documents across regions championing the APCO WIN process
- Support new business and proposal development efforts led by others
- Contribute to requests for information responses and requests from APCO colleagues for business development information and materials
- Assist the APCO proposal team in preparing for pitches through rehearsal support and coaching and presentation material preparation and critique
- Regularly connect with local offices and leaders to support new business efforts and provide updates on global new business progress, lessons learned, data and best practices
- Lead training sessions focused on upskilling APCO client-facing staff in business development best practices, and APCO processes and tools
- Promote and support the development of case studies, credentials and other new business materials
- Support new business analytics and ensure teams adhere to new business tracking via the APCO PIN system
- Advise APCO colleagues on all facets of business development and support the firm’s proactive and responsive business development efforts
- Actively contribute to the activities of the global marketing and new business team
- Make recommendations for enhancements to APCO’s global business development efforts
- Related duties as assigned
This role is predominantly focused on supporting APCO business development priorities globally. However, from time to time, there may be an opportunity to engage in client work. Business development, though, remains the priority.
Occasional business travel may be required.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of in consulting and/or client facing work
- Deep understanding of APCO and the work we provide to clients globally
- Previous client-facing experience in public relations, strategic communications, public affairs or related consulting discipline
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking and writing skills
- Experience working with multiple regions and across business cultures and time zones
- Experience developing proposals and leading new business efforts, especially complex and multi-market / multi-region opportunities
- Strong PowerPoint skills desired and a plus
- Experience with public relations, strategic communication, public affairs and related consulting disciplines is required
