Responsibilities:
Business and Planning Management
- Perform leadership role to make mid-long term business plan and strategy for the Chemical & Polymer department in Singapore, and lead staff to achieve quantitative/qualitative targets
- Manage existing businesses in all countries of Southeastern Asia (SEA) and South Asia, Middle East, and Africa.
- Work closely and establish good relationship with major petrochemical manufacturers who have regional HQ in Singapore
- Explore advanced technologies which are related to Circular economy and Carbon neutral, and make proposals to our stakeholders
New Business and Projects
- Implement strategic initiatives and actions to achieve company objectives, collect information about chemical products in the region, develop new business with other countries especially in Middle East and Africa to achieve yearly sales budget/targets
Team and Operation Management
- Lead department staff in performance management
- Manage department budget, report monthly P/L and B/S to top management in both local and Japan HQ, provide clear vision and directions for overall financial health and efficiency of the department
- Perform continuous improvement for the duties described above
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties be assigned by management or Japan HQ
Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree holder from reputable local or international universities in relevant field of study
- At least 12 years of sales related working experience about plastic of automobile industry or chemical & polymer trading related company
- Minimum 5 years of new business development experience in both local and overseas with successful cases, carbon-neutral related experience will be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years of logistic or manufacturing related working experience with knowledge of logistic, stocking, and product pricing.
- Minimum 6 years of leadership with people management experience, minimally managed teams of more than 10 subordinators
- Prior working experience in a Japanese firm would be advantageous
- Willing to travel in overseas frequently and accept short lead time preparation upon customers’ request
- Strong in strategic planning, logical thinking, result oriented, goal driven, innovative mind, self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, arrange tasks and schedules to delivery outcomes on time, and resilience to high pressure
- Pro-active working attitude, strong sense of task ownership, interpersonal and negotiation skill, effective communication among external partners and internal group companies
- Fluent English to communicate with local employees, customers, and management
- Proficiency in the Japanese language to communicate and manage relevant stakeholders effectively with Japan HQ would be advantageous
