About the Role:
The Regional Head of Surgical Business, APAC reports directly to the Regional Head of Medical Business, APAC. The individual is responsible for the medical business in the UG/ GS/ CSSI/ SD/ ENTBU, oversees the surgical business in the region and executes regional strategies for strengthening the operational structure of regional businesses and organizations. The individual is a critical senior management member of APAC medical business and also supports for business activities of all APAC Medical SBCs to strengthen surgical business performance.
Roles and responsibilities:
· Develops and implements detailed business plans to maintain professional branding, exhibit excellent customer relations to patient, visitors, physicians and co-workers, and enhance the operations of departments across local BCs in APAC region in accordance with our Global Quality Standards and Core Values.
· Provides overall financial and business management of Surgical Business.
· Participates in leading/directing patient care related projects/teams.
· Monitors quality and appropriateness of patient care, evaluates information, identifies and resolves problems contribute effectiveness at producing improvements in patient care and utilizing staff to their best potential.
· Manages departments to ensure operations/supplies are consistent with budget goals and forecasting requirements.
· Coordinates with Business Line managers to analyze and study budgetary plans and identify variances and provides business line managers with timely information for corrective action plans.
· Actively provides input and feedback for decision making and workforce performance improvement activities whose vision and priorities are aligned with organizational and business objectives.

What we are looking for:
· BA/BS degree in life sciences or business-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
· MBA, MA/MS degree in life sciences or business-related field is highly preferred.
· Minimum of 10 years device / pharmaceutical industry experience with preferably 5 + years of people leadership and development experience.
· Previous experience working in a medical device company along with knowledge in Olympus endoscopic and therapeutic areas of interest, and diverse operations experience to drive improvements in product quality, costs, on-time delivery performance, and organizational culture.
· Broad knowledge base of healthcare trends, technology and healthcare industry.
· Leads the quality and process improvement efforts and manages/coordinates the overall activities of the departments of Surgical Business.
· Displays a good understanding of product development and launch strategy, R&D, clinical landscape, publications, and well-developed commercial acumen for cross functional collaboration.
· Direct people management experience and managing teams.
· Budget and forecasting experience.
· Ability to think strategically, critically analyze and synthesize complicated data, scientific, and business information.
· Strong consulting, facilitation, and communication skills bridging between scientific and business unit priorities, to manage effective international and cross-divisional collaboration.
· Experience of influencing and negotiating at executive management level to achieve delivery.
· Track record of successful partnership & collaboration with key stakeholders and business partners.
· Strong interpersonal skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential.
· Proficiency in English and Japanese is mandatory for daily communication with Japanese-speaking stakeholders, branch offices, and business partners
