Join Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets group, as a Lawyer primarily supporting our Commodity Markets and Finance and Fixed Income and Currencies businesses in Asia. What role will you play?
You’ll be responsible for providing legal support to the derivative businesses in Asia, with a particular focus on commodity derivative, fixed income and foreign exchange derivative transactions and structured notes. Your primary focus will include drafting and negotiation of over-the-counter (OTC) derivative and collateral agreements, providing legal advice around these transactions including with respect to trade confirmations, netting and collateral issues and OTC transactional and advisory work.
You will also advise on jurisdictional requirements for Asia based derivative counterparties and on regional derivative regulatory reforms and initiatives including APRA regulatory capital netting and collateral enforceability analysis and updates.
What you offer
· At least 2 years post-qualified experience in derivatives and/or debt capital markets documentation, gained from within a law firm, financial institution, or trading house
· Strong experience drafting and negotiating ISDA Master Agreement, Credit Support Annex, SAC Master Agreement and regulatory initial margin documents
· Knowledge of commodity markets and familiarity with derivatives and general finance documentation would be highly desirable
· Keen eye for detail and an excellent standard of work with demonstrated commercial astuteness and ability to demonstrate quick and sound judgment across a range of complex matters
· Ability to build strong working partnerships with stakeholders and clients and demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
