Description:
· Manage all assigned vessels on day-to-day Marine functions in close cooperation with the fleet team.
· Responsible for delivery on safety, security and environmental performance on assigned vessels.
· Fulfil responsibilities of CSO and Alt DPA for assigned vessels.
· Ensure readiness of assigned ships for PSC/Right ship and customer inspection.
· Ensure effective close out of all non-conformances, observations, deficiencies resulting from Internal or external inspection/audits on assigned vessels.
· Monitor ships as required through audits, inspections or routine visits as required.
· Assist with incident investigation and root cause analysis as required by manager, closing out deficiencies, making recommendations and putting in place preventive measures.
· Assess the operational risks from a marine/navigational perspective for assigned vessels.
· Responsible for briefing and debriefing crew of assigned vessels on Marine matters.
· Actively participate in the development of the quality management system and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures
· Conduct crew training/familiarization
Job Requirements:
· Sailing experience of 2 years as Master, on Ocean going Container/Bulk Carriers trading world wide
· 1-2 years on shore as Marine Superintendent
· Familiar with ISM codes/ISPS/MARPOL/MLC and other maritime regulation
