Position Overview:
The Senior Executive of Sustainable Development is a key role within the organization, responsible for driving and implementing sustainable initiatives that align with the company's environmental, social, and economic goals. This role involves strategizing, planning, and executing various sustainability programs to create a positive impact on the organization, its stakeholders, and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Sustainability Strategy:
- Develop, refine, and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns withthe organization's values and business objectives.
- Identify key sustainability goals, targets, and performance indicators to track progressand measure success.
2.Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations to build strong relationships and partnerships that supportsustainable initiatives.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather input, share progress, and foster collaboration onsustainability projects.
3.Environmental Impact:
- Lead efforts to reduce the organization's environmental footprint by implementingenergy efficiency measures, waste reduction programs, water conservation initiatives,and sustainable sourcing practices.
- Explore opportunities for adopting renewable energy sources and incorporating circulareconomy principles.
4.Social Responsibility:
- Develop and manage social responsibility programs that promote employee well-being,diversity and inclusion, community engagement, and philanthropic activities.
- Ensure alignment with internationally recognized standards and guidelines for socialresponsibility.
5.Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare sustainability reports, disclosures, and submissions for regulatory and industryreporting requirements.
- Stay current with sustainability regulations and standards, ensuring the organization'scompliance.
6.Innovation and Research:
- Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainabledevelopment.
- Research and recommend innovative solutions that enhance the organization'ssustainability efforts.
7.Project Management:
- Plan, execute, and oversee sustainability projects, ensuring they are delivered on timeand within budget.
- Monitor project milestones and address any challenges that arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Environmental Science, Architecture, Sustainability,Engineering, Business Administration, or any related field.
- Proven experience in sustainability roles, with a focus on strategy development andimplementation.
- General understanding of sustainability frameworks, standards (e.g., Green Mark, ISO14001), and best practices.
- Good project management skills, including the ability to manage complex projects withmultiple stakeholders.
- Effective communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate insights.
- Leadership qualities with a track record of driving change and achieving results.
- Proficiency in sustainability reporting tools and software, is an added advantage.
